Orby Parish Council

Orby Parish Council meeting took place on:

Public Forum

A Resident has been reported to ELDC by a member of the public for blocking a footpath that adjoins their land and wanted it on record that this is simply n0t true. Work has been done on the path but to only improve things.

Can we write to the Stadium requesting that they remind their clientele over the tannoy that parking on the road is an offence.

The bypass is definitely not going ahead and this has been confirmed by the Reform Party in control at LCC. Cllr Brookes has not supported the project.

Boulevard Homes – people seem to be staying there as Airb’n’b lets and they are apparently cheaper than most other competition.

Can we invite Highways to vuisit Orby to discuss issues.

  1. To receive reports from outside bodies

ELDC will end on or around May 2028. The Shadow Authority will come into being in may 27 elections, and then there will be a gradual change over of power.

There is expected to be 2 councillors per area then, but there seems to be some confusion as to how Adult Social Services and Highways will be governed.

  3. Speed signs for village? Other measures?

A request was made by a Councillor for some speed signs for Orby and these were approved as a trial.

  1. Extra signage for Dog Waste Bins?

Cllr Eyre’s is looking into new and extra  bins for the area, especially in the catchwater Meadows and the Boulevard areas.

  1. Pothole outside of the Red Lion?

Reported that this wasz no longer an issue.

  1. Village Green?
    1. Transfer of land asset to Orby PC for conversion to a Village Green – update

A solicitor is needed to complete this transaction. Cllr Inkley to supply a known contact who could do this.

  1. Planning Notices

Heron’s Mead and Gunby Cross applications have all been approved.

The Walton Holt application is going through the Appeals process.

  1. Bank Reconciliation

As presented to all Councillors – year end result.

So approved.
